Today we had a KNOCK THE RUST OFF informal field target match. A match we quickly planned because of a good forecast and the opportunity to get outside and shoot. We had 10 shooters take advantage of the good weather to shoot our Highlands course with a few added target locations. It was a little wet and sloppy due to the rain we had Friday night but overall turned into a very pleasant day. We had one new shooter Lou Jimenez who shot his first ever FT match and did very well for his first time out. I'm sure we will be seeing more of Lou, I believe we sank the hooks in him pretty deep!
This really was a great opportunity to get into the swing of things. I for one did not feel very comfortable shooting and made some bad wind calls and even flinched a few times. Even had a problem with my parallax wheel moving on itself....repeatedly. I'm sure other shooters had their fair share of problems and were glad they found out these kinks. I took a pic of the scoreboard if you care to see how the scores were. Being a informal shoot we had no Troyer rating, no awards or no food afterward. This went so well I'd love to continue this every March if we have a weekend where the weather really cooperates with us. Thanks to the guys coming out I mostly had a great time and love to see guys enjoying our airgunning hobby!
Sincerely,
Keith Walters
